Hmmm, I apparently forgot about my blog, lol.
Well, no longer engaged as of April 2009, so I'm a single girl again. It's not all bad though. :) The rat fiance broke up with me because he was too afraid to leave his little Lake Tahoe hide-away...then, I found out he had cheated on me. So there you have it...I dodged a bullet!
I still have my cat-somewhat. She can't live where I'm living right now so she is staying with my brother and she is quite the smitten kitten with him.
I'm back in the dating pool but so far have encountered only sharks. :( The search for Mr. Right For Me continues...
That's all for now!

Just a quick update (after all this time!)
It's January 2009, and I am no longer living in So. Lake Tahoe, YAY! I moved back down here to So. CA last March actually and have a great job. I am still engaged but my fiance and cat are still in Tahoe and working on coming down here soon. Miss them both scads awfully!
More later!

Ooooohhhhhhh
I haven't posted all week. Actually the first part of the week I just procrastinated, and then I got sick a couple of days ago (thanks FH, love ya anyway). Ohhhhhhhhhh I am sooooooooo miserable. We both have (mostly) dry coughs, and a little congestion, and I feel like I have been beaten up. Seriously, my ribs hurt. SO.BAD.
I'm gonna go take some nighttime cold medicine now and see if I can get a decent night's sleep.

Happy Friday to all
I had a phone interview today with a dermatology/cosmetic surgery center. The lady was really nice. It lasted about 40 minutes, and she wants to meet me next Wed. They are hiring for different positions-receptionist, billing, supervisor, etc. It sounds like something I'd really be interested in. I just hope it doesn't pay something ridiculous like $8/hr.!
It's been snowing lightly here for the last couple of days, nothing major. We almost have my car dug out of the snow. Wonder if it'll start! Guess I should try it tomorrow.
No big plans for the weekend, just getting my nails done tomorrow morning, then coming home to do chores.
I'm watching When Harry Met Sally-LOVE that movie!
"I'll have what she's having..."

Up all night...
Sleep all day! I wish (remember that song?)
I was up almost all night again until 4:00, then I laid down and just could NOT go to sleep. I think I slept a total of 2 hours. I was verrry tempted to stay in bed this morning but I still was not very sleepy so I got up at 7:30. I have an interview at 1:45 today so hopefully I won't be sleepy then. Yikes. We also may go to a movie tonight since my future hubby has free tickets-hopefully I can stay awake! Now let's see if we can agree on what movie to see! He wants to see National Treasure: Book of Secrets (problem is I never saw the 1st one)and I want to see Definitely, Maybe.
I should just get busy and do some cleaning around here for a few hours instead of playing around on the computer. Yeah, right.
It snowed overnight, but not very much, only about an inch or so, YAY.
I don't think I've mentioned my cat before, but she is my baby and I've had her for 8 years. We are completely smitten with each other (so call me crazy cat lady, I don't care, neener neener!)
I think she is 9 years old. She is a beautiful white cat with a few dark grey markings and a grey tail, and her name is Sophie.
She has developed some disturbing health issues in the last 3 years or so. She started licking her sides and tummy incessantly, until almost all the hair was gone, and recently, she started chewing on 2 of her paws until they bled. :( We ran up some vet bills having her tested for the licking problem (of course they can't figure out if it's allergies or behavioral) and then we had to have her paws all bandaged up, which she just LOVED, almost as much as she loved wearing the plastic collar lampshade thing around her head. The paw problem started over the summer. We thought they had healed, but a couple of months later she started up again, so we have had the plastic lampshade on her for the past month, because she just cannot leave.her.feet.ALONE.
So, last night, as a test, I took off the collar for an extended period of time (instead of just the usual time limit of about 30 min. per day) and watched her like a hawk, and she actually left her feet alone. She did start in on them a couple of times but luckily we caught her and she stopped, and so we left it off overnight and she seems to be okay. The only thing is that she has practically been licking and grooming non-stop since last night, so we are trying to figure out if this is because she is making up for lost time while having the collar on, or if it's a health or behavioral issue. *sigh* I'm so crazy about her and I don't understand why she has to have these problems, but all I can do is take care of her. She's my sunshine.
Ta for now!

I love chocolate
Mmmm, I just had a glass of chocolate milk...YUMMM.
Whenever I have time off work, I get into this not so healthy pattern of either staying waaaaay too late, or getting up in the middle of the night and getting on the computer. Now, let me explain...I do have a hard time going to sleep sometimes, and sometimes I have a hard time STAYING asleep due to my bad back-it gets to hurting so much that I HAVE to get out of bed; however, I have got to break this somehow, because I get all off schedule and am always feeling unrested. Hopefully we will get a new mattress soon, and that should help a lot with my back. Also, if I would get busy and lose some poundage, that would help in all KINDS of ways.
Anyhoo, I got up at 11:45 today because I was up most of the night (plus my tummy didn't feel good). I knew I had to get busy making calls and such to commence job hunting and filing for unemployment, but it took me forever to get around to it. I tried calling unemployment a couple of times but was on hold forever (ok 45 minutes, but it FELT like forever). Finally got through and went through about 15 minutes of automated questions, then talked to a nice lady named Mavis who finished everything up. She sounded like a truck-stop waitress (not that there's anything wrong with that-it's just a description!) :) She asked why I was terminated from my job. I told her that I had been accused of "violating sales ethics" and she said "I hate that (insert bank name here)! I do NOT trust them!" Too funny. Here's who she actually reminded me of: Good ole' Maxine!
Maxine..I mean, Mavis, told me she believes that I will have NO problem qualifying for unemployment. Of course I have to wait for someone else from unemployment to call me for an official phone interview, and from there they will determine if I qualify for benefits, so I will not count on anything until it actually happens.
I also received a call from an agency today in response to my cover letter and resume that I emailed to them yesterday, so I have an interview with them tomorrow for a job as a medical billing assistant, sooooo, we shall see.
On a side note, I'm beginning to wonder if anyone has even seen my blog. I think I've done everything right as far as making sure it shows up in searches, etc. Oh well, I'll give it some more time. Meanwhile it's good for me to kinda use as a diary/journal. I'm beginning to realize how easy it is to forget the details of daily life, the little things that happen, so this blogging is a good experiment for me.
This is me lately: Sick, I know. Heh.
